In 1965, a romance novelist was born who would be known for his schmaltzy, predictable and usually mindless love stories that can sometimes express a certain charm and always make girls expect so much more from men. Whether you’re looking for a quick laugh here and there or you’re looking for an emotional rollercoaster of tears and laughs, it is a great book for both. To wrap this up, I just have to say I highly recommend this book. A really fantastic part in the book that illustrates their developing relationship is when Landon says, “Our love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it.” That quote says so little but means so much. Not only do both characters really come of age, but Landon & Jamie’s relationship grows, too. The character development in this book is great. You may never learn to move on and that’s ok you don’t have to forget them in order to move on. You may not know it at first but over time you will learn to live without them.
The theme of this book is love, but what the author is really trying to teach is that it’s ok to let people that you love go. Later, they learn the surprising truth about each other and this takes a very unexpected turn in their relationship and it turns the whole book around. At this point they have only known each other a few weeks and don’t know each other very well. The plot of A Walk To Remember is at one point in the book after London and Jamie meet they develop a very strong and heartfelt relationship. Overall, I rate this book 4.5/5 stars based on its story, characters and message. It’s so inspirational how they dealt through everything and how it just seemed the two of them were just meant to be together. The two of them go through a bunch of rough patches as all couples do, but in the end they always find their way back to each other. The novel is about a boy named Landon Carter, a senior in high school who falls deeply in love with a girl named Jamie Sullivan. A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks is a novel set in Beaufort, North Carolina in the year 1958.
